Our story

Dressed for the life well-lived

Romenci was born from a conviction that menswear should carry the weight of history — and the ease of a man who has nothing to prove.

The beginning

A letter from the founder

I grew up watching my grandfather dress. Not quickly, not carelessly — but with the quiet deliberateness of a man who understood that how you present yourself to the world is a form of respect. A pressed collar. A jacket that fit because it was made to fit. Shoes that had been worn in, not worn out.

When I started Romenci, I wasn't trying to build a brand. I was trying to recover something. A way of dressing that felt earned rather than purchased. That spoke of restraint rather than excess. That aged with you rather than against you.

We source our fabrics from mills in Italy and Portugal that have been weaving the same cloths for generations. We cut in small runs. We refuse to discount. Not out of arrogance — but because we believe the things worth having are worth waiting for.

What we stand for

The Romenci principles

01

Cloth over trend

We begin with fabric. Every piece starts at the mill — with linen from Normandy, wool from the Biella valley, cotton from the Alentejo. Trend is noise. Cloth is truth.

02

Restraint as luxury

We do not add what is not needed. No superfluous seams, no decorative hardware, no logo where silence would serve better. The luxury is in what we leave out.

03

Made to outlast

A Romenci garment is not a seasonal purchase. It is a long-term companion. We construct for longevity — reinforced seams, natural fibres that breathe and age, cuts that flatter across decades.

04

Small runs, always

We produce in limited quantities by design. Not as a marketing device — but because quality cannot be scaled without sacrifice. When a run is gone, it is gone.

The craft

Made by hand, finished by eye

Every Romenci piece passes through the hands of a single maker from cut to finish. We work with a small network of ateliers in Lisbon and Milan — family workshops where the craft has been passed down across generations. There are no assembly lines. There is no rush.

Bespoke commissions are available by appointment. Write to us at [email protected].
